Have you ever conducted a deposition and wished there was a video recording of opposing counsel or the deponents spouse? depose.me now offers the option of a 2nd video camera that actually records all participates from a center room vantage point simultaneously. One of the key features of a video deposition is the calming effect it has on disruptive attorneys and deponents. However, until now, this “side effect” was limited to the audio pickup of such bad behavior. Now depose.me offers the ability to add “whole room” high definition video to the mix to further document such disruptive behavior.
depose.me accomplishes 360 degree recording in collaboration with VSN Mobil. VSN Mobil’s new V.360 degree camera is placed at the center of the room, which is typically on the middle of the deposition conference table. With a real time 360 degree horizontal and 45 degree up and 15 degree down vertical field of view, the V.360 captures all attendees and participates simultaneously. Unlike yesterdays technology where a user needed to use pan/tilt to select an area to record, the V.360 captures everything at once and the area of interest can be selected during playback.
depose.me has incorporated the V.360 video protocol into the online user portal deposition review area allowing for “panning” using the keyboard or mouse. The user can operate their mouse to “drag” the V.360 recorded video footage to show any one attendee or area of the deposition room. Then using the depose.me clipping tools the user can easily extract key segments that are index for use in the trial/mediation presentation tools.
Another key feature is that when playing the V.360 video, the video and audio from the primary camera and digital audio recorders remain synchronized. As does the machine transcript and optional human transcript.
When emotions run high, order the V.360 option to help calm the event and lessen the chance that your one day deposition will turn into a two day or longer deposition. You may also capture behavior of parties that can be a key factor during mediation and settlement negotiations.
Use by teleconference attendees
Finally, the V.360 option is ideal when some attendees are appearing via teleconference. Each remote attendee can not only see the deponent, but can independently pan the room without impacting the view of other attendees or the official video record. This is a game changer, and offers the potential for huge cost savings. Remote attendees will have virtually the same experience as being there in person … maybe even better!
